The 22 October sale achieved a total of €2,525,350. The most complete copy of the 1854 edition of Auguste Salzmann's photographs of Jerusalem ever offered at public auction from the library of the ducs de Luynes at the Château de Dampierre achieved €463,500 at Sotheby's Paris. This is a worldwide record for an album by Salzmann.
The second part of the Château de Dampierre sale features the collection of Honoré d’Albert, 8th duc de Luynes (1802-67). It offers an exceptional selection of books on archaeology and the history of the Mediterranean region from the 16th to the 19th centuries, including titles on Italy, Greece, Turkey, Palestine, Jerusalem and Egypt.
