The March 14th sale of Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian Art, features a wide ranging selection of works from the late 19th Century through the 20th century.
Highlights include Jean-Baptiste-Armand Guillaumin’s atmospheric seascape Marine á Saint-Palais, which graces the front cover; Michel Kikoïne’s verdant Paysage aux Laveuses; and still life’s by Moïse Kisling and Bernard Buffet. Sustained interest in the field of Surrealism is reflected in the inclusion of a work by Dorothea Tanning as well as a tightly crafted watercolor by Graham Sutherland. Among the French artists, we are delighted to present works in oil and on paper by Camille Pissarro, Edouard Vuillard, Louis Valtat, and Raoul and Jean Dufy. Henry Moore is well represented by both sculptures and works on paper, including a large scale drawing from 1930. Also included in the sale are Russian works by Pavel Tchelitchew, David Davidovich Burliuk and Yury Annenkov.
We look forward to welcoming you to our March 10-13th preview before our March 14th sale.
