This evening sale at Sotheby’s Geneva brings to light some important historical timepieces. For instance, there is the Rolex with a map of India, possibly presented to its president Dr Prasad on the occasion of the first Indian Republic Day. This is joined by a Rolex presented to German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and the historical and unique Patek Philippe, Ref. 1518, dedicated to Clarin Mustad, a pioneer of the watch industry.
Completing the selection of historical watches will be a group of fine enamel pocket watches made for the Chinese, Turkish and Indian markets. The sale will also include vintage and modern wristwatches by the greatest watchmakers, including Patek Philippe and Rolex, as well as the newest generation of talented watchmakers like Greubel Forsey and Richard Mille, set to appeal to international watch collectors and connoisseurs.
