This auction spans the Impressionist and Modern era from a Berthe Morisot watercolor dated 1894 to Modern British sculptures of the 1960s by Henry Moore, Lynn Chadwick and Reg Butler. Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Émile-Antoine Bourdelle are all represented. Auguste Rodin's bronze, Head of Saint John the Baptist with the hand of Salome, is described in the Rodin archives as one of "the only bibelots that Rodin cast in a moment of fancy."
There is a strong selection of paintings by Pierre Bonnard, Pierre Eugène Montézin, Maurice de Vlaminck and Maurice Utrillo. The Modern period is highlighted with works by Rudolf Bauer, Francisco Borès and Robert and Sonia Delaunay. Rounding out the sale is a varied Russian section including works by Natalia Goncharova and Nina Aisenberg from The Schreiber Collection as well as several paintings by David Davidovich Burliuk.
