One of the fascinating works in the 19th Century Paintings section is The Fishmarket and Bridge in Oudewater by Cornelis Springer, the most reputed painter of Dutch townscapes in the 19th century. This lot depicts the picturesque town of Oudewater on a sunny day with villagers doing their day-to-day activities. It has been executed in 1859, at the height of Springer's career. The sale also includes works by B.C. Koekkoek, Andreas Schelfhout and Hermanus Koekkoek.
The Modern & Contemporary Art section includes works by CoBrA artists Karel Appel and Corneille, as well as works by ZERO artists Jan Schoonhoven and François Morellet. Interesting paintings from German artists like Georg Baselitz and Helmut Middendorf are also presented in this sale.
