The November sale of 19th & 20th Century European Sculpture brings together a strong group of figurative sculptures. There are a number of life-size marbles including Stanislas Lami's rare Nude with Doves. The animalier sculptures include a fine lifetime cast of Barye's Cheval Turc.
Important early twentieth century pieces include works by Wildt, Wlérick and Rosandic. Alfred Boucher, one of the most important sculptors in the field, is represented by two pieces, an alluring marble nude Le Repos and the master model for the bronze edition of Volubilis. The sale also encompasses a fine group of bronzes and terracottas by Carpeaux and an interesting collection of New Sculpture from a Private British Collection.
