  • Worked as sommelier for Daniel Boulud
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Graduated from Cornell University

Eli Rodriguez was born in Brooklyn and spent his formative years in Long Island. He got the wine bug at Cornell, graduating in 2001, and learnt the wine business, first at Best Cellars, then as a sommelier at Restaurant Daniel, working for one of the greatest chefs and most professional restaurateurs, Daniel Boulud, before joining Sotheby’s Wine in 2006. Eli keeps a close watch on the food, wine and music scene in New York. His first loves, apart from his wife and kids, Dahlia and Emile, are the wines from St Julien, Piedmont, Veneto and Mosel Rieslings, as well as anything from Spain - naturally, he is fluent in Spanish. Sadly, for him, Eli is a Mets fan.
