Bastienne Leuthe joined Sotheby’s in 2005 and currently works between London and the offices in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne, where she develops client relationships throughout Europe with a special focus on Germany.
She began her career at Sotheby's as a Graduate Trainee in the Paris Contemporary Art department before moving to London, where she developed her expertise in the Contemporary Art market, working on the Evening and Day sales. She was named a Deputy Director in 2008, promoted to Director in 2011 and appointed Senior Director in 2016.
Mrs Leuthe graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Art History and Economics from the University of Lüneburg in Germany after studying one year art history at the University of Pavia, Italy.
