Located in the historic Beau-Rivage Hotel on the shore of Lac Léman, Sotheby’s Geneva has played host to bi-annual sales of jewellery and watches for 35 years. In addition to its famous auctions, the Geneva office is one the largest exporters of fine and decorative art to our major sales in New York, London and Paris.

As the major global centre for jewellery auctions, our international team, headed by David Bennett, has consistently enjoyed outstanding results for important and noble jewels. Our Jewellery sales in 2015 alone reached a record total of CHF 289.4 million  ($300 million.)

Among the famous collections entrusted to Sotheby’s Geneva are the jewels of the Duchess of Windsor, Von Thurn und Taxis family, Maria Callas and Gina Lollobrigida. Recent world records for jewels set in Geneva include the Blue Moon of Josephine, which sold for $48.5m in November 2015 (beating the previous world record set by Sotheby’s Geneva with the sale of the Graff Pink for $46.2m in 2010), and the Sunrise Ruby ($28.3m, 2015).

Sotheby’s watch sales in Geneva continue to attract connoisseurs and watch-lovers alike from around the globe. Rare vintage timepieces with impressive provenance are sold alongside some of the most innovative complications today’s major watchmakers have to offer.

Sotheby’s made history in Geneva in November 2014 with the sale of the ‘Holy Grail’ of watches, the Henry Graves Jr. Patek Philippe Supercomplication. The one-of-a-kind pocket watch shattered records for any timepiece sold, fetching $24m.

Contact Sotheby’s Geneva to arrange a free and confidential valuation of your jewellery, watches and paintings. Our team is happy to assist you with questions relating to buying and selling with us.
