Sotheby's Spring 2015 auction of Prints and Multiples brought a strong total of $7,879,625, including buyer's premium, well within our pre-sale expectation. Andy Warhol's Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (F. & S. II.226-235) led the sale with a total price of $200,000, followed by Roy Lichtenstein's Reflections on Crash (C. 239) at $175,000.
The Spring 2015 auction of Prints and Multiples includes three sequences from noteworthy collections. These sections highlight works from an important publisher, Kenneth Tyler; Andy Warhol prints from the Felissimo Corporation in Japan and Contemporary prints from the estate of distinguished private collector, Peter B. Lewis, including Frank Stella’s screenprint Double Gray Scramble. An array of work by Modern and Contemporary masters will also be on offer such as Man Ray’s whimsical lithograph À l'heure de l'observatoire: Les amoureux and Cyril Power’s vibrant linocut The Tube Station.
