OVERVIEW

This December, Sotheby's Important Tiffany auction includes a highly-curated selection of leaded glass lamps, favrile glass and tablewares by Tiffany Studios.  The sale includes several top-caliber examples of leaded glass lamps, including a beautiful example of one of the firm's most iconic designs, the "Magnolia" Floor Lamp.  Other highlights include a superb “Trumpet Creeper” Table Lamp that has descended in the collections of only two families since 1906, as well as a highly unusual “Pony Begonia” Table Lamp depicting yellow Begonia blossoms.  The sale also features a wide selection of favrile glass vases displaying many of Tiffany Studios’ most artistic decorative techniques, including an extraordinary large-scaled cobalt blue Paperweight Vase and a dazzling Jack-in-the-Pulpit Vase.  Other highlights include an exquisite covered box executed in enameled copper depicting marine life, and two rare paintings by Louis Comfort Tiffany that descended in the artist’s family.
